We are off!

Well now that Ive got off the ground with my random post yesterday, I guess this thing is happening!

Ive been wanting to start a blog for a long time. It was one of those things that always got pushed to the back of my mind though. I just don't have the time. Who would read it? What would I even write about? But its something I think I would enjoy making time for. Plus even if no one reads it, it could be a fun way to document things I do.

So we are giving this a go!

Ive made a list of things I think will eventually end up on this blog and they are as followed...
- More about city living, events and Chicago history
- Craft projects Ive done
- Recipes I've tried
- Wedding prep - DIY and how not to go crazy
- How to do Disney as a non-parent or child
And whatever else I feel like!

We will see how this turns out and what is to come. Stay tuned!

Holiday time!!!!

And everything is in full swing!

I love the holidays in the city. Lights on the trees lining the street, wreaths and garlands popping up. Places like Macy's go all out with their decorations. Horns lining the building, animated window displays and decorations through out the inside, including this big beautiful tree that they do every year. Its slightly different every year too.

We always try to stop in at least once. To see what it all looks like, and to swing through their Christmas area of ornaments.

To view the tree you either have to eat in the restaurant, or go up one floor to where they sell all the furniture. I am pretty sure they get more foot traffic up there to see the tree compared to the whole rest of the year.

If you look closely in that picture they have "princesses" walking around. They look more like they are going to prom, but I'm sure the kids eating in that restaurant love it.

So far its the only holiday thing we have done, but we have a list of things we always try to check out.
The Christkindlmarket - a German inspired outdoor holiday market. The have the best cinnamon sugar nuts. Zoo Lights at the Lincoln Park Zoo is a must as well. Caroling at the Bean. And we have never fit it in in December, but Ice Skating in the park.

We did get our tree up though and there are already presents under it for someone....
